Number nine

Well, The Vale has had a great couple of weeks. Our Chairman has had all the glory again and picked up The Memorial Trophy on our behalf. The Snoop thinks that this is the first time we`ve won this so it`s very exciting. Bit of a heart attack moment towards the end, apparently though!!
I don`t think I`ve ever seen our leader look so worried. She went quite green!
The venue was very nice but where was the food? No refreshments served at the interval – not even a cuppa and a biscuit. Old Snoopy thought his throat had been cut and he should have brought sandwiches and a flask. If nothing else he could have sold them at a great profit!
Pam and Cled`s evening was very good. Absolutely fascinating, but what a strange country – if the poisonous snakes and spiders don`t get you they`ll boil you in oil. Charming! It`s not on the top of The Snoop`s list of favourite places to go. He`d rather be in Hawaii or The Seychelles, stretched out on the beach with a cocktail or two. And what on earth was wrong with our projector? Snoopy hopes they get it sorted out PDQ or when the PAGB Inter Federation Projected Images are shown we`ll be right up a smelly, narrow inlet without a sculling implement.
The Seven Way Battle was a great evening and well worth all the work involved. Thanks to Terry and his sister for our star raffle prize of two nights bed & breakfast over there in the foreign climes of France.
It was a magnificent prize and Old Snoopy bought lots of raffle tickets in the hope of winning it. No luck though - it was won by Brian Coleman and good luck to him. The Snoop hopes he has a great break.
The photographs were very varied, and although The Vale came second (only one point behind the winning club - Bridgend) the two prize winners came from our club. Mike Davies won the shield for The Best Monochrome Print and ‘that women again’ won the shield for The Best Colour Print, both with a score of 21.
Why 21 you ask? Why indeed. The Snoop has never seen a score of 21 before. Old Gary is definitely a very unusual judge, but very exciting.
This coming weekend it`s the WIPIS selection on Friday & Saturday and The Ace of Clubs on Sunday. Snoopy thinks that will be lots of work for some people. He might go along and have a look at The Ace but it seems a bit complicated. The snoop thinks it might actually really be a bit like rocket science.
This Friday it`s the Police Helicopter Team. The Snoop had better mind his P`s and Q`s.
Maybe he`ll pick up a few tips or get a free trip in a real one instead of the toy one Ed plays with.
He`s looking forward to it (especially if there`s a cuppa and biscuit of course!)
And lastly I have noticed a new “comments page” who is going to brave enough to make the first comment!!
