Club member David Allen first visited Nepal in 2004 and was shocked at how poor the majority of the people were. He decided to try to raise money to help educate children who were in unfortunate circumstances. He has now visited Nepal several times and with the help of his family has raised around £50,000. The charity ‘Aid for Nepali Children’ was formally registered with the Charity Commission in 2007. See www.aidfornepalichildren.org.uk for further information. Money raised was put to the following: • Three decrepit village schools in North East Nepal have been rebuilt and extended. |
