Fri Sep 7th Start of new Season - programme to follow shortly
I hope others made it! The road to Blaenavon was closed when I tried to get there on Saturday and without a map I was lost. My sat nav kept trying to take me back to the closed road. According to the ITV news there was a crash in the early hours of the morning which resulted in the death of one of the passengers. I made it on Sunday and, as predicted, there were loads of photographers from other clubs. Despite that I got some nice shots of really interesting people. More pictures here.
Did anyone else get there?
Cardiff Food Festival
Did anyone else go to the festivities? Peter Dennis was there but we missed him in the crowds. I met up with Gerald just before noon, sauntered around the stands and found Vale Roast Meat Company so had Hog roast in a bap followed up with a little cider. The live bands were great, I wish I'd booked more time in car park so that I could have listened to more. I just might go back tomorrow because I forgot to buy a couple of suitable pressies for my great nieces.
If you have any photos you'd like to add then send them to the webmaster.
Removing colour casts from old scanned photos
Following Peter Dennis' presentation on restoring old photographs he has added his technique for removing colour casts to our members only area. Here's the link:

Next Internal Competitions:
12 October 2018 - Only 3 Categories - Open Colour Print, Open Monochrome Print and Open Projected Digital Image - one entry per member in each category. At the end of the year there will be awards for the top three in each category.
Since no member is able to help with this role the club will no longer be taking part in external competitions next season and for the foreseeable future. We hope therefore that we can put more effort into finding suitable exhibition spaces and showing our work to a wider audience.
Next Exhibition: Vale Show - August
